Sharjah From The Sky

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi

Honored to announce the release of Sharjah from the Sky, a landmark photography book produced in collaboration with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority and published under Sarab Publishing House.

This 650-page coffee-table edition stands among the most comprehensive visual documentations ever created of the Emirate of Sharjah. Weighing nearly 7 kilograms and featuring more than 500 meticulously crafted aerial images, the book is a tribute to the emirate’s cultural depth, natural diversity, and forward-thinking urban evolution.

Shot entirely from above, the collection is the result of several years of dedicated fieldwork, during which I flew across Sharjah’s coastlines, deserts, ports, heritage districts, and architectural landmarks. From the rhythmic patterns of shifting sand dunes to the symmetry found within modern infrastructure, each photograph transforms Sharjah into a visual tapestry of color, geometry, and scale—perspectives that can only be witnessed from the air.

Sharjah from the Sky reveals the emirate through a unique lens, highlighting both its timeless landscapes and dynamic progress. Key subjects featured in the book include:

  • Historic districts such as the Heart of Sharjah and traditional souqs

  • Architectural icons, including museums, cultural centers, mosques, and modern institutions

  • Natural landscapes spanning deserts, mountains, and the Gulf coastline

  • Industrial and maritime zones, from ports and harbors to economic hubs

  • Urban developments showcasing Sharjah’s expanding skyline and infrastructure
