We begin by discussing your experience, reviewing what you would like to improve and identifying the subjects you enjoy photographing.
From there, we agree on a suitable focus and format. A session may combine discussion, practical photography and image review, with time to ask questions and work through specific challenges.
The aim is to help you understand your choices and make photographs with greater confidence and intention.
What You Can Learn
Camera control and exposure
Understand how aperture, shutter speed and ISO work together. Explore manual exposure, metering, histograms and depth of field.
Composition and light
Develop your ability to organise a frame, choose a viewpoint and recognise how light changes the character of a subject.
Landscape and cityscape photography
Explore location preparation, tripod technique, filters, long exposures and photographing through changing light.
Architectural photography
Consider perspective, vertical lines, framing and the relationship between a building and its surroundings. Tilt-shift techniques can be discussed where relevant.
Focus and advanced techniques
Work on precise focusing, focus stacking, exposure bracketing and panoramic photography according to your experience and equipment.
Editing and workflow
Refine your approach to Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, from selecting images and making adjustments to digital blending.

Understanding your camera is only the beginning. What matters most is learning to see, recognise the right light and make thoughtful decisions about composition.
Throughout our sessions, I share the knowledge and practical experience I have gained over years of photographing architecture, cities and landscapes. My approach goes beyond camera settings, focusing on how to observe a scene, anticipate changes in light and develop your own photographic style.
The goal is not simply to take better photographs, but to become a more confident and independent photographer.
