Behind the scenes at an architectural photography workshop in collaboration with Fujifilm Middle East, set within the iconic Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion.
Always good to be back at Expo City Dubai to conduct one of the most engaging workshops I’ve led, in collaboration with Fujifilm Middle East. This hands-on architectural photography workshop took place at Terra, the Sustainability Pavilion, one of the most iconic and visually compelling landmarks in Dubai.
Designed for photographers of all levels, the workshop focused on capturing contemporary architecture through the thoughtful use of light, geometry, scale, and composition. Set within Terra’s striking environment, participants explored how natural light interacts with complex structures, from the pavilion’s signature energy trees to its intricate façade details.
The session emphasized real-world shooting scenarios, helping participants develop a deeper understanding of framing architectural subjects, controlling perspective, and creating visually balanced images that tell a story. Throughout the workshop, I guided attendees through key techniques such as reading light across different materials, working with leading lines and symmetry, incorporating human scale to add depth, and refining composition to highlight both form and function.
The goal was not only to enhance technical skills, but also to strengthen each participant’s creative vision when approaching architectural photography.
