Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre
About the Project
The Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre in Al Ain, UAE, is a landmark of sustainable architecture inspired by the surrounding desert landscape and the environmental legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Designed by Chalabi Architekten & Partner, the building features sculptural forms, angular stone façades and a distinctive architectural geometry that responds to the natural contours of its setting. Its design incorporates environmentally conscious technologies and has achieved LEED Platinum and Estidama Five Pearl certifications.
Through this photographic series, Dany Eid explores the relationship between architecture, light and landscape, documenting the building's expressive forms, structural details and integration with its desert surroundings.
