In Sharjah’s desert, Mleiha brings together traces of early human settlement and a landscape shaped over millennia. Ancient burial sites sit among expanses of sand and rugged rock formations, connecting the region’s archaeological heritage with its desert surroundings.

My aerial photography explores that relationship from above, following the contours of the terrain and the patterns revealed by light and shadow. These wider views place the archaeological sites within the landscape, showing their scale and connection to the surrounding desert.

This series is featured in the coffee table book, Sharjah from the Sky, a photographic exploration of the emirate’s heritage, architecture and landscapes photography.
