About the Project

Across King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, angular towers, shaded spaces and connecting skyways create a layered urban landscape. The flowing lines of the KAFD Metro Station, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, contrast with the geometric forms of the KAFD Mosque, giving each building a distinct presence within the district.

I spent a full week photographing KAFD, exploring its architecture at different times of day. My approach followed the light as it moved across glass façades, revealed textures and cast shadows through the spaces between buildings. From wider views to architectural details, the series explores the district’s proportions, material contrasts and the relationship between its monumental buildings and the people moving through them.
