Bluewaters Island, Dubai
About the Project
Bluewaters Island sits just off Dubai’s coastline, where waterfront residences, open pedestrian spaces and Ain Dubai come together between the sea and the city. Its architecture reveals itself through layers, from the repeating lines of residential façades to shaded walkways and buildings opening towards the water. Seen from above, these elements form a wider composition, shaped by the shoreline and connected to the mainland by the sweep of its bridge.
Through my architectural and aerial photography, I explore the island at different scales. Wider views show how the buildings sit within the coastal landscape, while closer compositions draw attention to textures, proportions and the rhythm of balconies and screens. I am drawn to the way light moves across these surfaces, giving depth to the façades and changing the relationship between the architecture and its surroundings.
The sea remains a constant presence throughout the series. Reflections, shifting colours and the open horizon bring a quieter dimension to the density of the built environment. With Ain Dubai rising above the island, my photographs follow the balance between individual structures and the wider setting, capturing Bluewaters as a place shaped by architecture, light and water.
