About the Project

Thirty-eight clay-coloured cones gave the Austria Pavilion a distinct presence at Expo 2020 Dubai. Drawing on traditional Arabian wind towers, the design used natural airflow and passive cooling to respond to the desert climate.

My architectural photography explores the repetition of these forms, the texture of their surfaces and the light moving through their openings. Across the day, shifting shadows reveal the depth of the cones and the rhythm of the spaces between them.
