About the Project

The Abrahamic Family House, located in Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Cultural District, is a landmark architectural complex designed by Adjaye Associates. Opened in 2023, the project brings together three houses of worship, a mosque, a church and a synagogue, within a shared setting dedicated to dialogue, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence.

This independent photographic series by Dany Eid explores the interiors of St. Francis Church and Imam Al-Tayeb Mosque, documenting their distinct architectural identities through symmetry, geometry, materials and natural light.

Inside St. Francis Church, a dramatic suspended timber canopy creates a sculptural ceiling above the congregation, introducing rhythm, movement and depth. In contrast, Imam Al-Tayeb Mosque is defined by luminous white surfaces, soaring vaults and intricate geometric screens that filter daylight throughout the interior.

Together, these photographs reveal two contrasting yet complementary expressions of sacred architecture, highlighting the relationship between space, light, form and the human experience.
